My Road Glide Special has a FuelMoto E series 2:1, like my LRS. On the Road Glide, when I let off throttle, either while shifting, or just decel, it makes a probably 2x louder rumble that it does on throttle, except maybe on hard accel. It's a sweet sound that I love. No pop at all, just this great, loud rumble on decel off throttle. You know the sound, think when a big rig lets off throttle in gear.
Like I said, I have the same pipe on my LRS, which also has no pop, but it also doesn't have that great rumble on decel.
I'm going to try and get a sound clip of both as it's kind of hard to describe, but I'm wondering why the 103 on the RGS is louder on decel then the 110 LRS.
I'm tempted to mess with the tune to see if I can recreate it, but the LRS is running so damn good I don't want to screw anything up, so I want to be careful.
I recently bought an 07 FXD w/ V&H slip-ons and bought a PV with a canned map from fuelMoto. Also put an S&S super air box on. Yesterday I went through the auto tune procedure. I had the decel pop with the canned map and also with auto tune. I wanted it gone so I advanced the fuel on decel up 5% and increased spark up 3%. Pop is gone on decel now. You go into quick tune and set it in there-pretty self explanatory once your in there. Maybe you can retard fuel and spark just a bit on decel-you could always put it back. My bike is just a stock 96 so it's just an idea you could try. It wasn't a violent backfire just a popping when letting off throttle.

You're not getting me. It's not popping, it's the sound the road glide makes on decel. It's a good thing and I want it on my Dyna.
Mchad my guess is the length of the pipe. That combined with the different weights of the two bikes. The RG weighs more so the engine is braking more weight.
Could be timing, cams, exhaust, or your map. I have a V&H Legacy FuelPak. You can adjust the fuel to cut off on decel and turn back on just before hitting idle. Before the fuel comes back on, the motor is acting like a big air pump, sounds good. Maybe what you're experiencing.
engine braking is a factor of torque isn't it? More torque more engine braking more or less.
My LRS with bassani road rage 3 sounds like a truck on the engine brake going down mt everest lol.
That's my point. I'd think the 110 would make more sound then the 103. I've got a few hours before the rain arrives this afternoon so I'll try and get audio of both.
