Hey Guys, I have a 2003 LR and the rubber trim around the speedo and tach is starting to crack. I'm looking for some ideas for an after market solution and maybe something that looks better than stock. Thanks in advance.
The old style 2 piece tank trim and speedo is pretty lame. I just took my chrome ones off and replace them with the stock wrinkle black ones which are now powdercoated gloss black courtesy of Joe. I got replacement gaskets from HD.
You could also switch to a leather tank trim panel.
i used the chrome door edging..just remove your console..remove the speedo/tach..put the edging over a pan of boiling water..it will be like a limp noodle..lol..form it around the console and put them in the freezer for bout 30 mins....looks clean..
I just picked up the trim at HD 2 weeks ago and it only cost about $12. They also redesigned it since my '00 and it is much improved. Perfect, secure fit. If you want the part # let me know and I will dig it up.

Great job. Really looks good, especially the flush mount gas cap and fuel gauge.
