Looking to lower my front forks
I want to drop my front end 1 inch, i have seen drop in spring kits and have also seen the kits with springs and damper tubes, What is the difference between the 2 and what would be better as ride is concerned. I have a wideglide front end with 41mm tubes.The drops in kit seems easier to do but is the ride similar to stock.Not sure which direction to go with this.

A free mod is to raise the fork tubes up an inch in the clamps. Used to do this all the time when going from desert racing to tight mountain trails. It made the bike turn sharper, but gave away some high speed stability. No matter how you drop the front end, it will effect the steering geometry.
If you like the way it handles, then go ahead and spend the dough for a lowering kit.
