They gave me a more controlled ride, better cornering and way smoother feel over bumps, more controlled braking and overall a better handling and more confidence inspiring bike.
Ricor's rear shocks brought both ends of the bike together for a total transformation. Not too many bikes, cars or trucks can handle R/R track crossing as smooth as my bike.
I did the rear first. Then I noticed the front seemed to be all over the place compared to the rear. I think I just didnt notice how bad stock was until I shored up the rear. Then the front became very obvious. After I installed the intiminators I felt they handled equally together( front and rear). It gave me much more confidence in turns and a much better handling bike.
The Intiminators make your stock forks act like expensive cartidges. Basicly do the same thing. If you got the money to spend on the cartridges go for it.
I upgraded but on a budget. I spent $1000.00 for front and rear.
I enjoy the controlled ride and handles the bumps better.
I find myself going faster in the turns, the wind doesn't blow me all over the place on the freeway and over bridges where the wind really puicks up.

Hemi,
If I ever get the vibrations out of this FXDB I'll upgrade the handling. Tell me more about the Ricor 13.5" "Sport Tuned" rear shocks. How did you make that choice compared to the many other options available? Why 13.5"? That lift should alter the handling also.?.
STILUP,
I got about the same budget you had and want to spend it wisely. tell us more about the Works Triple rate front springs and Works Streettracker shocks. How did you arrive at this combination over Ricor or Progressive offerings??? What did you gain in cornering, comfort and handling?

I talked to Brian at Ricor and told him my specifics. We so happened to ride the same bike and were close to the same weight. I just had him build me the same shocks that he had on his personal bike. He said if I wanted to lower them, then just screw the adjuster upward a few turns to give me more sag.
Having the full 13.5 inch length gives me more travel for a way better ride over the rougher roads or track crossings, more cornering clearance and a better bite on the front end when cornering. High speed stability is not affected by the slight change in geometry in the least.
Having the Ricor Intiminators in front and their shocks in the back have turned my bike into a performance Harley that can run with any cruiser. Not many road bikes, trucks or cars can blast across R/R tracks without a jolt as well as my Harley.
