Not sure we should discuss Head Trip Helmets (Advanced Carbon Composites), but I have one their helmets and it is great. They are made in the US out of carbon fiber and Kevlar.
Prior to a testing glitch that declared them not DOT (about a year and half ago), they had several testimonials that claim they lived up to their billing.
Despite the fact that they are no longer DOT, I personally believe they are better than most helmets made overseas. Just my $0.02.
Ive got the grey one on order and the mirrored Visormatic... I cant wait to get them should be shipping in the next few days... then the helmet is being sent straight to my pinstriper to lay down some bad *** old school lines and silverleafed numbers

Vega makes some DOT half helmets that don't give you that head shroom look. I have one that looks like carbon fiber (it's really fiberglass). Price was right too. Picked it up for $60.

That thing is a paper weight, never worked right and now its not even DOT. Dont waste your money even if you could find one, I actually want my money back but they went out of business. I was waiting on the first batch of Licks helmets to go out and see how they turn out. I like wearing a full face in traffic but I like putting on a skid lid on the weekend runs in the summer heat
