So I helped my nephew put apes... Just lil mini 10inchers...
Got the wire extensions... Cut, resoldered all the wires. Tapped everything up... Bolted it all back up...
Now ... Everything works...
Except starting...
Turn the key...
All lights, all signals, horn... Hi:low beams...
Flip the run switch the speedo work, engine light goes off etc....
Hit the start button.... Nothing... No click, no buzz...
Like the bike is completely dead.... But it's not???
Any ideas? Could it be possible that just that one wire out if all of them???
Also...
What the best way to bleed the brakes?
Got fluid coming out... But we aren't building up any pressure???
Could be as simple as a bad connection on the starter button. I'd double check the wire connections first. And there's lots of good info on here about brake bleeding. I use a mighty vac and it works great.
The brakes take a long time to build pressure. I tied my lever to my grip over night with the master cylinder cover off. After that it only took 5 minutes and I was done.
bench bleed the system first, run the brake line right back into the master till you get no bubbles. from here i like to fill the caliper with fluid and then pop in a speed bleeder, might vac to the rescue!!! watch your leves in the master...
sounds like pinched wired on the bar man, check to make sure your swithc housing or brake clamp is not pinching a wire and grounding it out to the bar.
