Default Installing Forward Controls on Superglide

I am about to buy some forward controls for my 07 superglide. Just wanting to know if its hard to install them, or if there are any tricks i should know about about buying them or putting them on. I am looking on J&P Cycles website.
From what I can tell, it seems pretty simple, but I have never really worked on a bike before so this will be new to me.
Thanks.

no it is not hard at all . I imagine there would be some differences from a 2005 to a 2007 but I installed mine in about an hour and a half. the trickiest thing was adjusting brake pedal position and shifter pedal position to suit your comfort. if you have any questions you can send me a personal email and I will reply with my phone number.

It's one of the easiest mods to do. Check out the Kury's.

Well, I heard that only breaking up is hard to do.

Then again, it might be easier if you turn the bike over.

Sorry, weird day; Percocet.

First mod I did on my 05 FXDC and actually the first mod I ever did on any bike was kury extended forwards. Very easy even after far to many beers. If you got any questions let me know I would be glad to help. Oh and in mt opinion I would go with something other than Kurys, they work great and I have had zero issues with them but I have found several others that I like a lot more

Probably one of the easiest mods to do for the DIY'er! I went with the HD forwards so I really don't have any suggestions on aftermarket ones. Haven't had a problem in 5 years. Good luck!

I copied this from another post I just made, hope it helps!

All you have to do is:
On the left side-
1-Disconnect and remove the shift rod.
2-Remove the mid shift arm.
3-Remove the peg frame mount.
4-Mount the forward control mount.
5-Attach the shift arm and forward lever.
6-Attach the shift rod to the forward shift arm and rear shift linkage. (might require some adjusting of forward shift arm and lever)
7-Take a zip tie and temp secure the old shift lever it to the new shift rod loosely until you have down time to get the old one removed and the (black) shift lever installed (if you went with the black).
Left side completed.

On the right side-
1-Disconnect the rod from the brake lever and unscrew it form the master cylinder.
2-Remove the peg mount, be careful not to damage the exhaust when doing this.
3-Mount the right forward control and attach components
4-Screw new brake rod into master cylinder until you get the desired brake lever position.
Right side completed.

Once everything is installed and torqued down to specs. Sit on bike and run the gears up and back down rolling the bike forward or backwards to make sure gear catches, you are checking to make sure that there is not binding and for clearence issues. Next press brake down and make sure that the lever is at a good angle and that the brake ingages.

That is all I had to do on my 2010 SB. Ask you dealer if to can look at the install instructions to make sure it is something that you can handle.

Good Luck.

I bought mine from jp cycles as well make sure you look at the included items. I didnt realize until i was installing them that they came with a chrome block that extended the controls another 2 inches farther than harley's kit. And without getting another shift linkage and brake rod i couldnt just take those blocks out. With that extra 2 inches i was almost on my toes to hit the brake or shift. Just a heads up.
