I did my 1999 super-glide in less than an hour. I waited till the off season to remove the mid peg brackets. Unfortunately I overestimated my inseam and so I think I am going to have to switch them back. but now since I took of the brackets off I am going to have to pop the exhaust again to go back. I liked the look though while it lasted.

On the J&P Cycles site you can get some brackets that let you move the forwards back about an inch, that help you out some!
Thanks man. I just read through the thread and it was very helpful. Even had step by step instructions on there. Also some good information on weather or not to mess with inside the case. I would suggest everyone read this thread. Probably buy my extendned forward controls next month, already spent this months play money on my sissy seat for the wife...
Very simple to do. Took me 2 hours with a bad back. I used H-D parts though. It's hard to mess up if you follow the directions and have the correct tools.
the '06 and later models i would assume, require the primary cover to be removed. but there is another and easier way to do this? please explain...
Actually, you do not need to remove the inner primary to do forwards. Read WS6 Formula's threads on this and you'll see that there are ways around that. His write-ups are very helpful. I did mine and never touched my inner primary.
All good advice, the only addition I will offer is to read ALL the destructions well before you actually start to ensure you have everything to hand for the job, otherwise Murphy is likely to step in midway through your install.....
