I want to get an engine guard but can't decide between the HD guard and the lindby multibar. I think I like the look of the multibar better but both look decent. The thing that I'm not sure about is that I still have mid controls and think I might eventually want forwards, the lindby is specific based on mid or forward, so I would have to get the forward bar for the wide glide in case I got them later on. The hd excepts both mid/forward. I also want highway pegs on the bars and the multibar has a spot for feet on them already. How is the position on the multibar for the feet? I also want to mount fog lights eventually to them and don't know if the multibar will except them or where I would mount them on it. Does anyone have experience with either one or both that can offer some advice?
I have the HD engine guards on mine - picture in signature. I really like them and will be adding highway pegs on mine very soon. I still have the mid controls and plan to keep them. I like the combo of mid controls and highway pegs.
Personally, I like the looks/functionality of Linby products - JMO. If I didn't add lower fairing kit to my FLHX - definitely wanted to get the multi-bar. Can you call Linby & see if you can order the one for forward controls now so you're ready for later change?
Does anyone have the forward control multibar or linbar and know if that extended bracket will only mount with the forward controls on there or can u still mount it without them?
I had the HD Guard bar on my Superglide and now have the Linbdy Multi-bar on my Wideglide. Both are nice bars but the foot rest on the Lindby bar is mostly for looks IMO. It's too close in and my knee hits my HV breather. Maybe without the Heavy Breather it would work better. The highway pegs that I mounted on the Harley guard bar are on the outside and are really comfortable going down the road. Even with the foot rest on the Lindby being close in it still let's me streach out my legs on road trips, but the best thing a guard bar is for is when you drop it or slide after hitting gravel. I have seen this happen and I thought for sure his bike was going to be all bent up. The guard bar did it's job and he only had a scratch on his bar and rear turn signal. That why I have one now.
