Talking First ride of the season (for me)

It has been 5 months since I last sat on my baby

New battery - check
Is it charged? - check
Fresh oil/filter/new plugs - check
Temp - 31 deg (oh well)

Got about 10 miles in just now, froze my jewels, but it was worth it. Now I won't be able to sleep cause I wanna ride... Tomorrow definitely

Good for you, we have way too much snow and ice to pull the bike out and it's killing me for now.

we did hit 5 Celsius or 41 Fahrenheit today and it's supposed to stay this way for the rest of the week so I hope it will melts enough to ride...

I figured this week there would have to be a day I could get on the road for the first time this year too. I was counting on some warm days for a little maintenance before hitting the road .... but I could just fire her up and go as is ... ah the temptation.

I live down a mud hole of a dirt road and I think the rain and warm days ahead may clear that crude on the pavement and allow the road to dry a little bit more before I can roll out.

Plus, we have some 50's coming up here in mid MI soon.

I'm in Midland, so you should be seeing some of the same weather down there too. Hope you can get it out sooner than later! And unfortunately, I am with out a job for now, so all I have after hunting for a job it to tinker with my bike after I read on here for some ideas. But tomorrow is going to be a ride to the gas station, and maybe a few more miles if I can still locate my stones

We should be above 50 in Chicago tomorrow (first time since November). And sunny!

You bet I'll be riding tomorrow night.

yup, here in Maine too! There was only one little patch of snow left on my driveway Saturday so the wife and I took our bikes out on their first ride of the season. Its only in the thirties here but I have been out every day since. Only seen one other bike out so far. The season has officially started . . . slowly.

Heated gear is worth it if you want to ride in colder weather. I plan on hitting up some windy roads after work today.
