congrats on the new bike. my 09' handles well and not a problem stopping either. The MOCO has these newer bikes fitted with full floating discs and most riders never ride that hard to even need that. The larger diameter fork tubes have made a huge difference in how the bike tracks thru high speed turns and the ground clearence is adequate in most cases. Enjoy the ride this summer.
I have the same bike, but in Vivid Black. It's a great ride - comfortable and handles well. The best thing about it is that it is literally a blank canvas. There is no end to the mods and accessories you can add to it.

Spiritwarrior-
I'm about to pick up my '11 FXDC here in about 2 weeks (provided the weather holds). You said your first mod is putting on dual front discs. I'm new, so I don't have any fear of sounding stupid...its gonna happen. Is this something I should look into doing? Is the single disc insufficient or is it more of a "comfort" thing knowing you've got more stopping power?
Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Stock bike stocks adequately. But having ridden a Fatbob, the dual front discs, provides straighter, quicker stops, won't over heat as much in the twisties. It just makes them handle better in tight situations. I already had the caliper, so that is almost half of the cost.
