Do I need Tires
Looks like the one I just changed! I managed to get 15000 mile on my factory Dunlop 591 so after much debate I went with the same to replace it. It handled good and with that many miles I couldn't complain.
Never really learned the much about brands of tires...everyone seems to have their favorite. That why I asked you guys. Guess most riders have a brand they stick with.
I have to say if you need to ask us if you need a new tire, I think you need to get off the bike. Not tryin to be an *** but. REALLY? If you can't tell then please do not make us all look bad by getting yourself killed just get rid of the bike. Would you drive a car with a tire that looked like that? As far as a brand It don't matter its all in how you ride it. If your a thottle junkie your gonna burn through some tires.
That's nothin! I checked mine out today and got some steel braids showing lol. I'm gonna go with a metzeler 880 170/60r17 next. IF i can find one at a decent price.
BTW, I saw the wildcat hd plate frame, started thinking UK & got pissed lol. hardcore blue devils fan.

I was ALWAYS part of the "get the BEST" when it comes to tires crowd...until one day when MONEY started to become an issue for me
...then I started looking around at alternatives... and ran into a brand called Shinko.
I was skeptical because they are WAY less expensive than the rest... but the reviews were REALLY good so I tries a set and WOW!... they were GREAT!!!
Stuck REALLY well (and I rise very aggressively) and outlasted the previous set of Dunlops by more than a few thousand miles.
Bottom line for me? I could pay $250 for a rear or I could pay $80 for a rear... I'll choose the $80 Shinko from now on!
ymmv (I've always wanted to use that acronym but never found the perfect scenario until now! hahahaa)

I ordered the Metzeler ME880 Marathons, both front and rear, stock sizes. I got them both from J&P Cycle for $269.98. They were on back order for about two weeks, that tells me that they are a good tire because it seems like everyone wants them.
I got 11500miles on my stock Michelin Scorcher's and could prob get another k out of them, but I am doing a 1k run with some friends soon, so I won't be pushing them.
