Kinda thinking I need tires...the front is still in good shape but the center of the back looks a bit bald. These are the factor tires and I have put about 8K on them. Do I need a new one? If so what kind do you guys like?
hmmm tough call... Grin. I'd say you definitely got the goodie out of that tire.
I ran an Avon Storm 170 on mine and it was great for cornering and felt great on the road. I didn't see good mileage though. I have a Metzler 880 on now and have gotten more miles out of it than the Dunlops or Avon.
Yea, you don't wanta be cought in the rain a long way from home on that tire.
I've heard the ME880 Marathons get good milage.
It sounds like your front is still good to go, that's about right... a new front for every other rear.
You need to consider weather or not mixed-matched tires (front 2 rear) are the way you want to go. I'd say wait till the next rear tire change then change em both to another type.
