sorry more popping
I have made sure the headers were tight. Called up keith at fuel moto.
He had me add from 20 all the way up to fifty on the map from 2500 to 6500.
Nothing works the pipes are samson BG3 .
I get a lot of popping on decel and and occasional backfire.
I hate it how does one get rid of this.
I also have the screaming eagle ac, P/C 3
Thanks any help would be appreciated.
Try taking the lowest setting and bump it up about 2 lights and play with it from there. Maybe even the next one up one light.
I originally had my bike dynod, but changed pipes and just grabbed a generic map.
I would say it runs just as good as it did with the custom map...good enough that I won't be spending money on the dyno any time soon.
It's been a while, but to use the buttons, just hold them all down while you turn the bike on.
Start at 30 and increase in increments of 5..
Let me know how it goes..
Regards..

I brought them down to .038 and low and behold very little popping now.
I can live with the way it is now. Before it was embarssing coming down a hill it would pop really bad and loud back fires.
Thanks for you advice, I still might try what you guys advised.
I have set my plugs to a .040 setting. Seems to work well, and motorcycles pop. Most combustion engines do.
If you remove the cat, and open your pipes. You're more prone to hear the pops. You can tune it out to a degree, but you just have to learn to work the throttle, and match RPM with the throttle when on decel.
I am sure a lot of people will disagree, but that is my experience, and it is what it is. I don't want to flood my bike, or lean my bike to keep it from popping. I just learn how to ride my bike so that I don't put my motor in a situation that creates that much of a change that it wants to pop. I am not racing.. I don't hit the rev limiter, and I don't have to get off the throttle so hard as to engine brake so hard that the motorcycle exhaust pops. I can engine brake just fine by matching throttle to RPM, and not have annoying pops.
