I GOTTA get the quiet baffles for these V/H big shots. Neighbors giving really dirty looks, setting off car alarms, mothers hiding their daughters, etc... I totally notice the increased torque from the A/C, pipe mods, will I lose a lot of HP with the baffles? Already ordered from DKirk, and not too expensive. Will they make much of a difference?
They are great if you think spending 60 bux to LOSE 5-7 HP......is great
Pass, quiet baffles suk. Idle bike out of neighborhood and just make a mean face at them when you ride by.

Having 3 different baffles in my V&H I can say that no way is there a noticeable loss of power, especially 5-7 HP. That's like saying you lose all the power improvements from a stage 1 just by changing baffles.
Not to sure about the torque. You always hear about the torque gain with the quiet baffles, but mine ran better with the standards.
There was someone on here (I couldn't find the thread) but he had his dyna dynoed with the quiet baffles and the the standards in his V&H short shots and he had between 10-15 more horses with the standards and the quiets killed the power. Yes he posted the dyno sheet to prove it.

Yup, sure is a loss, and it is in fact 5-7HP and more on built engines.(10-15 RWHP) I would venture to say your bike has never seen a Dyno or a Drag Strip with back to back comparos with and without the various baffles....Do I assume correctly?

Yep, Thats the guy who posted his Dyno sheet complaining of his low peak HP and TQ numbers. As soon as he said he had quiet baffles I knew it was the reason his bike ran bad. Removed them, and retuned it fo I believe 12HP increase at Rear Wheel. This was on a mild build also.

And yes that is EXACTLY what I am saying. The Vance and Hines duals with quiet baffles are barely as good as stock from a performance standpoint, even with a air filter, and ecu upgrade.

i lost 14 hp with the quiet baffles on the dyno. They are just not worth it cause at cruize, the sound level is almost the same.

Thats right it was fchava's bike I was referring to in my above post. Here are the Dyno Numbers so MR Nevil there can see for himself.... Posted below is the information Nevil wants to read....

Hey Nevil, Read this and tell me how good the quiet baffles are again??
Whatever loss from quite baffles there might be I didn't notice it at all. Dyno or not. The butt dyno may lie, but it's the one I live with. They do increase back pressure I believe so I don't know why you would lose performance. Again, didn't notice any loss on the road.
