I've only ever had one neighbor mention my pipes, and that was once when it was running for an extended period in my garage while I was fiddling with the Thundermax. I told him it was an isolated incident because I had to retune the bike and he said it was no problem. Thunderheaders really aren't that loud unless you spank the throttle anyway, but there's no way I'd feel self conscious about my pipes pissing off the neighbors unless they were straight drags.

well here is the difference quiet baffles vs. standard, nothing changed but a tune. Seat of the pants? no comparison, the quiet baffles killed the engine at about 4500 rpm

When I bought my bike in October, previous owner had no baffles in it. It was ear splitting loud. I ride to work quite a bit so wife was always nervous about the neighbors, but I could care less to be honest. When I had the PCIII installed and tuned, I put in some Vance & Hines baffles to help the midrange, still nice and loud, but not near as bad. My neighbors are not the friendliest bunch, so I don't really care what they think of me or my bike.

Thats wide open and about 1000-1500RPMs from the rev limiter depending on your setup.

I cant wait to install some cams and a big bore 10:5 kit in my ride.

You'll notice it when you are in a hurry to pass somebody on a two lane road with oncoming traffic.

Hey Ed. Thanks for that...good time to have all horses for sure! The few rounds yesterday were colorful too! haha, all good on this end! I'm breaking the neighborhood in easily, I think. Where I live, without exaggeration, there are about 20 Prius' and 5 Vespa/scooters for every 1 motorcycle. And, those bikes are usually Triumph Bonnevilles. Add to the equation, I'm a Realtor trying to prevent my neighbors from becoming future ex-clients! Take care!

We had an RUB in my hood with short drag pipes on a custom pro-street chopper. This bike wouldn't even idle right, popping and back-firing was the norm. The thing would set off car alarms all the time with no problem. Other than that it was a nice looking machine. Before you flame me I say you had to hear the bike Drag strip level loud.
We all had a good laugh at the idiot one day when he was pushing it back home, I'm sure that wasn't the look he was going for when he bought it. Owner has since got rid of the bike and moved on to a BMW cage.
Because of people like that we all get policed as a whole in many cases. I say everything in moderation. Be respectful and maybe we can keep the Greenies and Uptights off our asses a little longer before we're all looking at State imposed inspections.
