Throw over or hard mount

Trying to figure out which bags to get for my 2010 Super Glide Custom. I'd like to keep the taillights in place. Any suggestions?

Are you also opposed to mounting a luggage rack or sissy bar? If so, get a backback or fanny pack.

What are your needs? Do you commute to work on it? Do you ride 2-up a lot? How often do you overnight or take trips on it? In other words, how often do you need the extra storage and how much storage? Do they need to be lockable? How much money are you willing to spend? Hard bags don't conform to what goes in them like "soft" bags do (somewhat). Lots of choices out there. I have spent about $150 total for my setup at this point as I wasn't sure if I would eventually want to go to hard bags.
