I have an 07 Street Bob and was looking at some heavy duty Progressive Shocks for it. When riding 2 up with the wife and a backpack of stuff on the back it seems a bit bouncy. Would some 412's or 440's take care of that bounciness.
I'm new to Harley's and can't seem to find an answer anywhere else.
I run heavy duty 412's on the rear of my Superglide. They are a little stiff solo, but great for two up riding. I weigh 220, and if I were lighter, I think the standard 412's would be better.
I would think the "bouncy" -ness is because of your springs, not your shocks. Nonetheless, I have a set of real short 412s and a set of longer 440s (rarely are the 412s on). I weight two-bills, my GF is about 150. We sometimes botttom out on good size bumps but not often. If you do a lot of two-up riding, consider getting heavy duty springs when you order your Progressives.
