SO:
Now that you have read the manual, read it more in detail about tuning. You can set the desired efr to get better mileage. On some years you can adjust the speedo. I have been tweeking with mine after a 95 and stage 2 heads. I also put a 2 tooth bigger drive sprocket on for better cruising mileage. I have bumped the efr at lower rpm and cruising rpm up to 13.99 and it is working great. As the Thundermax does it's tuning the tune will just get better and better. Make sure to apply the tune to memory every 200 to 400 at first, so it will learn faster. It just keep getting better and better.
Some of the more experienced tuner can tune it better for cold starting. I can't remember what my friend Bob did to mine.

For sure, all those settings are in the manual and since I enjoy tinkering, I will no doubt check them all out.

Just got back from a ride, and must say I am very impressed with this setup,
I would be remiss if I did not mention Dr. V-Twin (forum sponsor), great price, great service, very easy transaction, so if anyone is thinking about this, send him a request for a price, I am sure you will be pleased with his service.

got an email in the dr. v right now. looking forward to hearing back. I hear two different schools of thought on the thundermax with AT for any motor later than 2005. the 2006 later dynas updated there EFI technology. I hear from some TTS is better for a 2011 motor because of the updated ECM that is used in the newer bikes... (though I am going to lose the exhaust with the catalyst in the headpipes as soon as I can). I don't know if this changes anything much for EFI choices. I have gotten some really great advice and replies here. A lot of die hard Thundermax users and a lot of diehard TTS etc. users. Going to be a hard choice .

Just make sure you get new exhaust with o2 bungs. The 06+ ECM does do a better job than the 05 like mine, but it still does not have the capability of the TMax. With the TMax you need to use their wide band o2 sensors instead of the narrow band ones that are stock, this is what gives you the full auto tune capability.
You will need a dremel tool or similar tool on the Dynas, you have to do a little carving on the electrical caddy, but it's no big deal.

+1 on above...I am pretty much self taught as far as working on bikes for years now and after reading the manual a few times and some minor carving, it was EZ and I am glad that I went with the TM w/ A/T. Did TM, Pipes and A/C all together and I am a satisfied customer...Semper Fi!

Had the pleasure of meeting the guys from Zipper's yesterday , they had a booth setup here for Rolling Thunder.
I had them hook my bike up and take a look at things, all they had to do was an auto READ, ADJUST, WRITE function, the canned map was very close, he said it just needed a little tweak because of the 1-off pipes, but it was very minor.

Great bunch of people, and best of all, they didn't even charge me to check it out.
Bike runs a small but noticeable difference better.
Really wish I had bought the TMax before the FuelPak and PC III, Just NO comparison in the way she runs between the 3 of them.
They also told me they have a new unit now, which does not require modding the electrical box to fit the Dyna's any more, bolts right in.

Hey Rich ... I didn't see the Zipper's booth ... wish I had ....

I rode up to Alexandria ... but, didn't ride Rolling Thunder ... something about sitting in the Pentagon parking lot for 6 hours all for a 30 min ride to the Mall just doesn't appeal to me ... really cool to see though ... an amazing experience to see the sea of bikes ... two overflow parking lots, too ...!

I got a photo of the bamboo caged POW and made a donation to the Illinois POW/MIA Assn ... got a glimpse of Sarah Palin ... had an Italian sausage and cherry Garcia ice cream bar ....

If, as and when I get a tour of duty at the Pentagon I'll consider doing the ride I suppose ....

I should have been more clear...sorry, they were at Ft. Washington Harley.

I know what you mean about the wait, it can be unbearable in the heat, first time I rode I didn't have any idea and didn't bring nearly enough water, didn't make that mistake twice....Also learned lunch is a great idea...lol

One of these days we will have to meet up for a putt.
