After seeing how much damage a friend had from his kids knocking his bike over...I got the HD engine guard from Zanottis. $150. Took 10 minutes to install. At first it seemed really big. Now I don't even notice it.
I have the Linbdy Multi bar on my WG. I once saw a guy pulling off the highway into a gas station when he hit some gravel and down went his bike and it slid for about 25 yards. After checking on him I just new his bike was going to be all banged up. I could not beleive it when we got her up. It was only scratched on the edge of the Guard bar and the back turn signal. I got one for that reason and it gives you a place to streach out your legs on longer rides. Heres a few pictures of mine.
Awesome, after a few more posts, hopefully I'll be able to see those pics! I guess my account is still too new.
I am looking into getting an engine guard and wanted to see more options. Has anybody added one to there 2010 or newer Dyna WideGlide? Please post Pics with info. Thanks ahead of time.
Also, Superglideken with the newer Wideglide that has the black powder coated Multi-bar in this thread. I contacted Linby and they do not offer the Multi-Bar already powder coated (http://www.lindbycustom.com/cart/pro...cat=266&page=1). Is that Linby part number SKU 1304?

Spoole96, there is a picture of mine on page one of this thread posted by Jbizzle. Vivid black 2010 wideglide with black engine guard and highway peg mounts/pegs. I wouldn't have one at first, but I soon realized it's more about being comfortable than the "coolness" factor as my wife stated. However, I think you can have both. Looks great and gives me another place to put my feet during long rides. About to give it the real test in two weeks. Going to the Grand Canyon.
I had a Lindby Multi bar but couldn't install it because I stripped a bolt while installing my forwards.....and then I gave the bar to my nephew for his birthday. I wanted a Linbar anyway.
jack0890, what brand is that? You guys are in for a long haul. It should be a blast. I'm a relatively new rider. Haven't made any rides that far yet. We will be riding up to Hot Springs, AR next month for the HOG Ralley.
Punchsmack, Did you have to order it in chrome? Or was you able to order it painted black / black powder coat?
I found one that would look awesome on a Wide Glide. But, I'm not sure if they make it for that model Harley. Its a Santee Designer Series ′Bonanza′ Highway Bar by Fred Kodlin.
This is one of those Subjective Opinion type threads....if you think your WG looks ok with a crash bar on...then go for it. The Lindbar is the best looking one I have seen, however I wouldnt put one on a wideglide. I feel it takes away from the trim, raked look. They look more at home on a fat boy.

I actually bought it from a forum member for $70. It was chrome. He was missing the brackets so I ordered those from the Lindby site for $35. I went to install the unit and stripped one of the bolts on the clutch side. Until I get that fixed, I can't mount an engine guard. Actually, even then, I park my ride behind my car in a condo parking spot....and I have a guard rail inches away. So, an engine guard would make my parking space not work. So.....who knows if I'll ever get one.
I'll search for the Bonzanza Highway Bar like you mentioned...I really like their apes. I want to get a set badly.
Too bad the highway bars say they only fit on the touring models. Is there a way to contact the Santee company and review the specs? When I put their info in Google, I only get back places that sell their merch.
