Axle nut was accessible before, I flipped the axle when I did the powdercoating so I wouldn't have to remove the pipe again...but after doing this it wouldn't be neccessary.
I'm sure Rich designed the tip for a reason and under those conditions it probably makes some sort of a difference but I'll never notice it I'm sure.
I first saw this done on some japanese built FXR's a few years back. Saw it again on another board I visit recently and decided what the hell. I was only in my t-header $200 used so no huge loss if it didn't work out.
It's easy. cut the 3 tack welds off, grind down the welds, repaint or recoat as neccessary.

Sanded with some green pad I had lying around. This bbq paint is sweet. No primer no runs no problem. **** is like 8 bux a can but never had an issue with it. I doubt it does anything to help the crack. Im on my 2nd bracket..and noticed yesterday this one is cracked too. Spaced everything out again so we'll see.

What brand of paint did you use? Could be the pics but it seems to have a little more gloss to it than the bbq paint I've used in the past.
BTW...the pipe loos killer!
