Question Final drive thoughts for my 08 FXDF

Guys, I've been sifting through the old threads on front and rear sprocket and belt options for the 07-08 FXD's and think I've distilled it down as follows:

Factory (Domestic)

32 tooth front 66 tooth rear 133T belt

My Ideal Modification

30 tooth front 68 tooth rear 131T belt with the ability to put 66 tooth rear on for traveling.

Source the 30 tooth from andrews or baker
Source the 68 tooth from late model sportster and make spacer
Belt width change ???

Any help, corrections, recommendations, or comments would be much appreciated.

I definitely want to have the right parts when I tear down the primary

The stock belt works fine, you should try the 30T pulley first and if you still want more the 68T will also fit the stock belt.

I know the '06 models where geared a little different. The rear pulley should be a direct bolt on. I don't recall the exact gearing though.

They bolt on but the belt width is different. The 08 FXDF is a 1" belt.

Thanks guys! I just shot off an email to Sturdyke to see what they can come up with. I put them on the 68 tooth rear for the international FX's to see if they can come up with it, too.

I'll post pn's if I can get them.

Some Sportsters have a 68T 1", I'm not sure of the part number but one fits.

Thanks guys! Just ordered 83595-11 from surdyke for $62.95. Still looking around for a 68 tooth rear. Gonna walk the webster swap meet in a few weeks with my tape measure.
