I never noticed this before. I went out for a ride today, 81 degrees. Got back and pulled in the driveway. Got off the bike and let it idle for a few seconds. All of a sudden the motor started running rough and shaken more than normal. I twisted the throttle and it was fine. About 10 seconds later started running rough. I hooked my PCV up to my laptop and while the motor was running you can see the rear cyl drops off. When you touch the gas its back on. Then 10 sec's or so go by she drops again. I just never noticed this before. I think i read somewhere that it does this to save fuel?
engine idle temperature management system (eitms). You can have it disabled if you want, search the forum or google and you can learn all about what it does.
I don't like it either... is there a way to disable it from doing it? or do I have to take it in to the dealer?
The dealer can disable it or if you have custom tune software I think you can do it yourself. I have mine enabled with my download, it doesn't bother me.

Thought it had to do with engine temp. I had the bike out over the winter a few times and never noticed it. Today being the hotest day yet, i noticed the engine temp was about 300 degrees. Well thats what my laptop said when i had it hooked up to my PCV
Engine off, ignition on, turn throttle forward and hold for about 5 seconds, looking at the LCD display at the same time, this should shut it off.
If I remember correctly.
I knew about this feature before I bought and had my salesguy show me.
He said he always made sure it was on before the new owner left the showroom. Funny though how he didn't seem like he was going to tell me about it until I asked.
Fortunately, because I knew, it didn't freak me out the first time it did it.

It is my understanding that process only works on the tour bikes. I think it has to be done by the dealer or another computer program on other models.
