I ordered an '07 Wide Glide. It's gonna be a looooooong winter! Now, I need to get a new screen name for my new ride. Everyone on here was really helpful. There was a lot of information to help with my new purchase.
Anyway, I have a question about the SERT. Do I need to change ECU mappings for an exhaust upgrade (Vance and Hines)?
I'm thinking about making the SERT my first purchase, when I'm ready. This way, it will be there for any future upgrades (AC, exhaust, etc). I heard the bikes run a little lean, anyway, so maybe I'll be able to make some use of it right off the bat.
Congrats. You don't need to remap, but I recommend an air cleaner upgrade. Search for pcIII or fuelpak, there are numerous posts about using these performance upgrades.
I was flip floppin between Street Bob and WG , when I sold my Sportster. I chose the Bob and love it BUT the next Bike I get will be a WG! Congrats on your bike!!
Way to go on the FXDWGI awesome choice. Also, I would only get the SERT if you're planning any major up grades. I've been running the stock pipes and a/c with V&H slip ons since june. I took the bike to the dealer for the 25 deg. injector upgrade. They don't have a dyno. but they checked it with a sniffer or something and said that it seems to be running a tiny bit lean, but well with in the H.D. specs. I believe they're telling the truth because even with the 8 deg injectors the bike seems to run very well. I bought a fuel pack the other day from another forum member and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Well, enough about my bike, this is your thread Good luck, and ride safe.
