I finally got around to installing my Rush mufflers, Went on easy but the support bracket between the mufflers will not fit. The rear muffler is about 5/8" higher than the bracket and if I tighten the bolts on the bracket down the mufflers touch. I have put Rush on other bikes and never had this problem before. Double checked the Rush site to verify the part number shipped as 14201. They are smaller in diameter than the stock but that really should not make a difference. What am I missing???
Spoke to tech today at Rush, started at the beginning and got it figured out. I had the slash downs turned out a little and that was enough to throw off the geometry of the bracket etc.....Can't believe it was that simple, drove me crazy.
Ok now that you have them on, what baffles are you running? From the stock mufflers what level would you say the increase is based on a scale of 1-10, 10 being obnoxious. Just trying to decide if it is something I want to do. I want a little more thump, but nothing much louder then stock.

I have had 1.75 and 2's and I really couldnt tell much difference between the two. I think they give a good deep rumble. If stocks where a 1 then I wold say RUSH 2" would be a 5 or 6.
I had 2" on my Nightster and they were a little too loud for the city so i got 1.75 for this bike. Like 2007z71 said, not much difference, 1.75 a little bit but not much and when you crack the throttle they do bark. Certainly louder than stock.... 5-6 ,I would guess on your scale and they don't have that ear splitting noise some of the straight pipes have but a nice rumble.
If you are looking for something a little louder than stock I would consider Screamin Eagle..
I wonder if it would be a safe bet to assume that the 1.5 baffle is probably in that 3-4 range? That is what I am thinking of getting. I have listened to their website sounds but it is just too difficult to make an informed decision.
