I had been thinking about a little surface rust on a few areas on the bike where the chrome on bolt heads, nicks in paint/powdercoat, little blemishes were starting to show a little rust .... Back in Tacoma, on my garage bench (where it currently is doing me absolutely no good whatever) I have some naval jelly ... for just such occasions ....
So, was at a hardware the other day and decided to try some Krud Kutter Rust Remover ... just get the surface of the rust wet with water and then apply a little of the product ....
Had never used it, so wasn't sure what to expect ... turned out pretty good ....
Doesn't seem I am seeing much discussion about this topic so thought I'd post ... see what others are doing or think of the product if they've tried it ....
its about time I start dealing with some of the rust issues before they become big projects and force me to actually get the things i want to get (ne fenders, pegs, etc)
I have used a product called Evap-o-rust and it works great. You just soak your part in it and it does the rest. Didn't even have to scrub. Also it's oderless and, IIRC, non-toxic. There is also a meathod where you can spray it on larger pieces and brush the rust off that way too. I got mine at Autozone.
