Ok folks I have a 2008 street bob with mids. I don't want forwards but do I have an option to move my mids up a inch or a little bit. I know some of my buddies have moved their floorboards on the street glides out and up a little bit with extensions. Is there a option to move pegs up a bit on a dyna and if so what would you do to the brake pedal. I would assume if you move the pegs you would have to move the break a little too. Do I have any options?
You could put an extension that would move the pegs 'outboard' by an inch or so ... also, you could get 'dog leg' offset adapters (some of which allow for 360 degree adjustment) ... so the pegs could be moved forward by the amount of the offset ... but, you really can't do anything with the mid-mount shifter lever or brake lever ....
The angle of the shifter lever can be adjusted by removing it from the splined shaft, rotating it a bit and replacing it at a different angle and reinserting the keeper bolt (although it won't effect much unless the ends of the connecting rod are adjusted accordingly) ... the only adjustment for the brake pedal is the nut at the threaded end of the connecting rod will adjust slightly up or down ....
Therefore, trying to adjust the mid controls forward is not a really rewarding effort ....
where theres a will theres always a way...if your good with hands and metalworks im sure you could fab something up to move pegs forward and make a longer shifter and brake...or ya could get seat to bring your butt back... or ya could just get highway pegs and call it a day
I was interested in the same thing. Tried various searches but came up with nothing.
I'm surprised no one makes a slightly longer brake and shift lever. I guess not much perceived demand.
I like my FXDC mids but I would move them just hair forward. I guess I'd need to try different seats.
Hiway pegs are an option. I put a set on my '07 SB. Great for long rides, you have the option of moving your feet so the leg muscles don't start cramping.
