I went down this road myself. I used custom chrome boards mounted to my foward controls, felt good didnt last long. I ended up going with the Wyatt kit. Buy them if you can find them. They are right between the mid & foward controls, so they are good for control and comfy to. I've went about 600 miles one way with no pains so I like them alot.

The foot boards for the '12 FLD will fit an '06 Dyna. I've just finished that project on my SG. Depending on your exhaust, you'll have to modify your heat shield to fit the right rear racket. If you have HD forward controls, the shifter and linkage will work. in addition to the foot boards and brackets, you'll need the brake rod and lever. The HD fwd control one will not work without notiching the lever for clearance, and it looks like sh**, and is kinda in the way.

The 2012 Dyna parts book does have a complete listing of all the part numbers to convert your Dyna from pegs to boards. The dealers have the books at the parts counter.
I you are 5'8" ish or shorter, you might want to concider the FXDP board kit. Although I've not seen them in person, there are many helpful threads on this site that helped me to decide on the FLD boards, just "Search" FLD Switchback on this sight or "Google" Wyatts footboards (And they are out there) to get more than enough info to help you in that decision.
The FLD rear brackets go forward then up, The FXDP rear brackets go straight up, making them about 2 inches further to the rear than the FLD's. Also, the FLD's are slightly lower (about an inch) in the rear where-as the FXDP's are more level.
one of the best threads on these comparisons was posted by FXD2003Rider dated 08-20-2011. His photo's pritty much convinced me to go to my parts guy and, "pull the trigger" (buy) on the FLD's. I'm 6'1" on a good day.

Do I read the above posts correctly that the 27-0920 V Twin kit is no longer available?? I had just convinced myself that I wanted that for my '09 Fat Bob, but I am still not sure if the kit will fit my bike because of the unique factory exhaust with the rear cylinder's pipe hooking way up around to the front and following the front cylinder's pipe alongside the mid-control mounting pad on the frame. Same pipe config on the newer Wide Glides. Is there anyone out there who has successfully used the 27-0920 kit with a Fat Bob or Wide Glide?
