What Helmet Do You Wear?
Materials is mostly a matter of cost. Fiberglass lids will be lighter, which means less neck fatigue, than plastic. They'll also cost more.
Some people think fiberglass protects more because of the way it shatters absorbs more of the impact energy.
Carbon fiber is just like fiberglass, only moreso on the lightweight side, and more costly. Since it's a newer material it's also fancy.
Dunno about energy absorption in a crash.
Kevlar is very similar to fiberglass in most respects. It should be more puncture resistant, like if you crashed and ran into a nail sticking out of the road. After all Kevlar is used in bulletproof vests (though a different formula). My boots have a kevlar lining in the soles, and I've stepped on nails working on the house many times. Still no puncture through.
The Bell Star I posted is pretty costly. You can probably find a carbon fiber one for the price I paid for my star. But I think it just looks badass on the bike.
Good luck

No Helmet law but I wear one anyway. To many old people driving the cage and trying to kill everyone on the road.
