bikerlaw did you do that leatherwork yourself ? If you bought it that must have been some bucks eh ? Looks nice, my cousin used to actually carve leather like that. Had one of those Tandy leather kits.
I found these guys on ebay. I called them up about the saddlebags listed here. I asked them if they could make them to my specs. I wanted 15 wide 12 tall and 6 deep without the throw over yokes. What you see in the pics is what they sent me. $300 plus 22 dollars shipping. I had the tour pack made up to match last fall. Same design. $175 plus shipping. I got some easy brackets and some diamond plate and bolted the stuff on. They are the thickest saddle leather I have ever seen in my life. 14-16 ounce I think its called.
You can get a couple different sizes and colors of the windshield...my brother is running his with the bubble shield and mine is the 15" or 18". They are really nice shields and seem pretty sturdy.
I like the shield and it does a really good job, but I think I may go back to my Harley detachable...I think it just fits my bikes look better:
Oooooo Mascman that is one sweet ride. Could tell me what brand, model and where you bought those bags ? I don't want to hear how much cause I know I can't afford it right now. But that is one of the best looking Dyna's I have ever seen.
Thanks...there are so many good looking bikes on here!
The bags on my bike are Corbin Fleetliners. They are pretty expensive but I got a deal on used ones on Ebay.
I came home from work this morning and I just had to see if my hunch was right...I think it was.
My bike looks better with a traditional style windshield on it...it has always had an "old soul" feel to it if you can understand that one! The Rifle fairing is a great piece and it does a great job with the wind, but it looks out of place on my bike...but looks killer on my brother's.
The chrome lower deflectors cracked along one of the bolt holes so I just trimmed them off...still blocks the updraft pretty good.
The headlight is actually just a generic shell that I picked up for about $20 and then used the stock inner pieces along with the Harley trim ring...it's not actually made to go together, but it has not popped apart on me in normal riding. I like the way it sticks out too!
Mascman, with all due respect...I think the rifle roadster fairing looks really nice on your bike. Are those fairings able to be modded so they are quickly removed. I like the look and IF I'm gonna put one on for longer rides, I'd like quick on/off capabilities...

Cheers,
I suppose you could make your own mounting system and use quick detach clamps.
I was originally going to do that, but then I just opted to buy the mounting kit for the '06 and up bikes.
I've got to have bags because this is my only vehicle and has been since day one. But no screen or fairing for me, just not my style. . . . Had a rented Street Glide for a few months and really disliked the fairing, that's my only experience. I just like the bugs, wind, grit etc. Otherwise just feels like a car.
Looks like you can do some travelling on that bike Romeo!
Any detail on that rear mudflap? I think I would like to put on on mine since the bags hang down lower than my fender...think it would look good and even the back up.
It looks like you drilled holes? I would try and mount mine with either a 3m tape or maybe some rare earth magnets...they are pretty strong and would probably hold it just fine.

I got the mud flap from Tim Wolf at TimberWolf Leather in Jasper, Georgia: http://www.timberwolfleather.com/cat...-MUD-FLAPS.htm. It's available with or without the chrome spots or concho, and he also offers different colors for the piping around the edge.
If you decide to order one, be sure to let Tim know that you have a later FX with the wider fender. The one shown on the web page is for a narrower fender. He made a new pattern when I ordered mine. Price was the same as the one shown.
Yes, I drilled holes in the fender, but there is plenty of leather at the top of the flap to install it any way you want; 3M tape, Velcro, magnets, etc.
