Here is my 2008 Street Bob with a set of custom made Dyna bags I got off eBay for $53 including the mounting hardware.

It's from a Wideglide with a backrest that I fabbed up. It's removable.

I was getting a ton of stuff kicked up on my bags...fender got it too, but not as noticeable due to the smaller surface.

Decided to try a flap and hope it cuts down on the tar, etc.

You stated in another thread that you wanted to try the mudflap without drilling. Looks as if that didn't work out. Did you try the earth magnets.

I didn't try magnets or anything to be honest. There are some industrial velcro-type stuff that would probably work though.

I just said to hell with it and drilled into a $2500 paint set...I've always been a little crazy!

If I ever strip it back down, I can always trim the fender or just put the chrome bolts back in...or maybe some plugs.

"Live for now, worry about it later" is my motto!

Yep it would look good with just the chrome studs,
Looks great with the flap on.
Is that their stock flap, or did you request it wider for the newer fenders?

Thanks guys!

The flap was just an $18 one I picked up at Cycle Warehouse near me. I just pushed it up to the meatier part of the flap as it actually tapers down to about 7" or so at the top.

After I got it on it looked a little plain, so I just stole that cross medallion thingy from a fork bag I have...it just needed something, anything, to break up the center.
