My 2009 dyna came factory with 32/66 gearing. I already did the 30t front pulley. I am wondering if i can go 68 or 70 tooth pulley with the same belt? this thing is still a little tall.......plus I like to start gathering parts early......
You should be able to go 68, but I doubt you could go 70 with the same belt, how much adjustment do you have left now on the rear axle? As I recall 2 teeth on the rear pulley will move the axle adjuster 1/8", so for 4 teeth you would need a minimum of 1/4" of adjustable length.
Problem is, the 09 has a 130 tooth belt stock, the 06 was either 132 or 133.
That may be why is adjuster is maxed out. If he has a 130 belt it will never work with a 70 tooth pulley..
I went from a 66 to a 70 rear while keeping the front pulley stock (32). Belt was snug putting back on but I still had to tighten it a little bit. Keep in mind this is a Heritage, not a Dyna.

Hmmm..If it is all the way back to the rear of the bike, you may be able to make it work.
Looks like there is one way to find out for sure....Good luck
