I am piecing my bike back together from a wreck. It has been too the dealer for a professional estimate. However, while on the rack it has been in neutral the whole time. Well I put the new outer primary on today but have not filled it because I don't have a derby cover yet. Well I just shifted the bike into gear, pulled on the clutch and I can't move the tire. Any suggestions? Is it because there is no weight on the rear end? or am I whole world of trouble?
I'm thinking the clutch plates are just sticking together
from sitting
I'm sure once you get it on the ground and try to roll it
with the clutch pulled in the plates should break free and it will be fine
Just make sure the clutch is working before you try to start it and
put it in gear

Seen that more than a few times when bikes have been sitting for awhile.
Means nothing if it is in gear with the clutch pulled in and can't rotate rear wheel by hand. Put your bike in gear and try to roll it when you are on it, you will feel resistance, it's normal. If you can't rotate it by hand in neutral, then I would be concerned.
Remember that when you depress the clutch the pushrod releases pressure on the clutch plates, it doesn't physically pul them apart. If they are stuck together you will experience what you are feeling. As soon as the bike is on the ground with the motor running I'm sure everything will be fine.
Ever started your bike in gear, with the clutch disengaged? If so, you've probably noticed that the starter is under quite a bit more stress (which is why we're supposed to start them in neutral). That starter puts out a lot more torque than you can. Don't worry about it.
