My problem is when I first get ready for a ride and after getting the bike warmed up a little and put it in first gear it makes a hellacious clunk, but after that, when shifting from neutral into first you cant even tell it went into gear its so smooth. All the recalls have been done on the clutch. Using Harley formula + in the primary, at the correct level. Anyone else have problem? If so,
what can I do to make it engage nicely on first shift into first
Try rolling it backwards too...i have to roll backwards out of the garage in the morning and I have minimal clunk on that start up. It's your clutch plates sticking together a bit...like the other guy said...work the clutch a few times while running before you go clunk.
Hold the clutch in for 20-30 seconds before putting into gear.
Roll the bike backwards in neutral with the clutch engaged..
Engage clutch and give the throttle a couple of blips before putting into gear.
Try different fluids.

It's the nature of the beast. All of mine have done that since day one.
I have the same clutch, same year. Sometimes it klunks, sometimes quiet. Never bothered to figure out why.
Using Redline in the transmission and primary.
To cure the sticion issue, run type F ATF but conventional, not synthetic. Besides possible slipping, synthetic in the primary is useless.
B&M Trickshift Original is a popular choice. No stiction and holy hookup batman.
