Default Leaky Jug

no, not my girlfriend's implant. i'm referring to the rear rocker box on my '06 bob. apparently it is leaking at the gasket. tech caught it at the 15k maintenance recently. said its not the first time he has seen it, however it is the first i've ever heard of it.

seems it will be about a three hour labor charge to fix, plus whatever else they can get away with while they're in there. no, can't do it myself - no tools, time or gumption. the tech (whom i trust) didn't appear to think it was urgent, so i'm going to ride it as is and monitor the situation.

anyone else had this type of rocker box trouble? i keep notes on known street bob issues, but i don't recall anyone mentioning this one.

perhaps the tech meant he has 'seen it before' on harleys in general and not the street bob, specifically. i'll have to get that clarified...

If its a rocker box leak, It should be less than a 3 hour job especially for a HD tech. I would guess about half that unless he is doing both boxes.

Bet the tank is thinking of pulling the tank when replacing the seal, not just lifting it. That oil leak was quite common on the Sportster Evo 1200 engine and usually rear cyl. gasket.
