the fxdx will handle a TON better and mine stock would have NO problem keeping up and even outrunning my cousins 07 bob, and if you look at my pic, its easy to make them look like a bob, and carb bikes sound WAAAAAAAAAAAY better imo
i know FXDXT will handle better in twist, what about high speed(120mph+) stability compair to FXDBI?
if i end up with either bike i'll pump up the motor to about 120hprw.
It depends what you want. How do you like to ride? My FXDX is a great handling bike and I like riding the state routes going through the twisty winding roads. If you like taking the super slab on long trips then go with the 6 speed. I don't think either bike was made for 120 mph plus. I may be wrong but I don't think the tires are rated at more than about 120.
you'd be nuts to buy the FXDX over the FXDB for the same price....unless the FXDB has high mileage....
Fuel injection, six speed, newer redesigned stiffer chassis, larger forks (not a tiny adjustable Sportster front end), larger engine, new style primary and cam chain auto adjusters, better gear ratio for acceleration......dont fall for the FXDX will handle better line....the bike is 10 years old...maybe when it was new....and thats still a big maybe......
For me is a No brainer the FXDX .. But am partial to them.. My 2000 FXR4 handles better than anything Harley puts out now and the FXDX is a close 2nd .. Still got the good Crank in the 2001 as well ..

Well, I say the FXDX . You get a forged crank and Timken bearings . Verses a cast crank, and HD bearings . Also, the crank run out tolerance on the new 96" motor is accepted up .014' !!! That is terrible ! Trust me I work as a CNC machinist, and run out should never be worse than .004" , especially, ESPECIALLY on a crank shaft . but other than that, well, the FXDB is probably a better choice ......Tough call .
