Up until now I've stored my Street Bob at my cousins house because I don't have a garage, but he needs the room now. Has anybody used one of these covers? They have a frame like a tent and can be lockable as well. Not going to deter a determined theif, but for some protection it might be good. Anybody have any experience with any of these units?
googled and came up with a bunch of companies such as cycleshell..
I have the cycle shell for touring models (i.e. the middle one) and it is well worth the money. I came with ground anchors and setup metal pieces for the kickstand and wheel stop. It comes with a owners guide to give advice on how to take of it. I reccomend that you follow the instructions for spray on treatments. The quality is awesome. The use of it when you pull your bike up only takes seconds
Either that or you could buy a little storage shed. I put one up years ago with a R/R tie perimeter foundation and a gravel floor. It's still alive today, 30 years later. I gave it to the next door neighbor 18 years ago when I built a shop.
It was maintenance free and would hold up to your MA winters. Now they sell easier to install and erect vinyl or some sort of plastic sheds with nowhere near the number of screws and parts that the old metal ones took.
Just something else to consider. Your MA winters are a lot like here in Eastern WA, I lived over in your area for about a year.
