Not knowing how bulbous and QD fitting would make the cross-over line, I just bought a $2 "Y" fitting. Capped the end and at least just have one gas spewing hole to contend with. I can at least point it toward a funnel.
Still I have to disconnect the hoses and cap both tubes before removing the tank.
P51's QD looks a lot cleaner than I had envisioned. I might just have to go with one.

Crossover
A couple pairs of hemastats or needle nose vice grips or anything else to clamp the hose together before cutting in between....then you can drain both sides at your leisure.
