I am installing an HD Airhorn on a 2008 SuperGlide. I have attached the ground wire to the fender and now the instructions say to bring the positive cable out around the frame infront of the battery box to the positive terminal of the battery.
Here I have run into the problem of the cable not being long enough to reach the positive teminal. I can't find any other route that reaches either. Have any of you had this problem, or am I doing something wrong?
Why couldn't you just plug it into the original wire? When I installed my air type horn I just used the original wires, it is self grounding.

Because the horn switch, and the wiring to the switch and horn are not rated for the current drawn by the air horn. It may work for a while, but in the end the wires could overheat and melt or the switch could fail.
To the OP, you could solder on an additional length of wire just as long as it is the same gauge or (larger) as the wire to the horn. There is also an aux. 12V wire under the seat. It is a single wire terminating in a gray plastic jack. HD sells a 3-way splitter that fits this connector, and you can order the mating plug as well.
