Default New Wide Glide

Ok, people, youve never steared me wrong in the past, so im confident i'll get some great answers. I have a 07 FXD, and love the way it handles but im thinking of getting a new FXDWG, with the flame job tank. From the reviews ive read they state that its not that good handling a bike because of the extended forks, but I was hoping to get some real world reviews from owners or ppl that have ridden them a couple of times. Obviously I want a great handling bike, especially for that kind of money. Thanks.

Just purchased mine last Saturday. It will be ready for pickup this Friday. I've test driven it and rode a buddy's and it handles perfectly fine for me. I traded in my 09 Custom Sportster which I rode like a crotch rocket! I like to speed up a lot out of corners and turns and found the wide glide handled this perfectly. The sales rep at the dealership told me the Wide Glide will handle perfect for an aggressive driver.

The rake on the wide glide is not enough to make any real difference in handling. As a matter of fact, due to it feeling better balanced, I feel like it handles better at slow speeds than my nightster did. Don't worry bout the handling, as you ride you'll get accustomed to its characteristics.

I too wanted flames, but so many have that scheme so i saved the extra $ by getting the VB and had it striped with my own flame job... just throwing out ideas.

I don't think you'll notice much handling differance coming of an FXD. My old Sportie 1200C handled curves and slinging it around in traffic a bit better than my WG, maybe not a lot but enough that I can notice.

Just like what everyone esle said... it handles just fine. I wouldnt worry about it. The front isnt raked out that much so I dont get the floppy handling at low speeds like you would get with longer choppers and such.
