I'm not shitting on anyone or their bike.
The choice to remove HD parts is purely up to the individual.
Warning people about a company's shortcomings and saving others from being burned can be an admirable pastime.
Someone actually thinks I should be banned from a supposedly impartial forum for telling the truth about a company's blatant apathy toward a legitimate issue, which the company has already acknowledged. That's reassuring.
We paid 40 grand and got peeling chrome??????
One would think that is a cautionary defect to most folks who work hard for their money. I guess it could be worse. At least I didn't buy stock.Sorry if you are actually offended. Imagine the anger caused by 40 grand with flaking Chinese chrome.
Ape - Looks good bro. I had mine off for a while and then decided to put some night train emblems on. Always gotta be changin sumthin ya know. As far as taking them off for the poster that asked. 3M makes an automotive adhesive remover. I sprayed it behind them emblems and reflectors and they came right off, the remaining adhesive rubbed off with my thumb.

You're missing the point- the OP is talking about making a cosmetic change to his bike and asking for pics and opinions.
You may have real gripes with your bike. Nobody is offended but they are pointing out that to bitch about it in a totally unrelated post doesn't make much sense. If you had started your own post you would've gotten some different and possibly appropriate responses, ideas on how to deal with it, etc.
Anyway, I'm seriously thinking of removing my tank badges, too. It's not so much that I want the naked tank as I don't like the badge itself.
40 grand for a CVO Ultra and my chrome is PEELING OFF.
Deeley Harley Davidson, who distributes HD to all of Canada, wants 150 bucks for 1 tank emblem. This is after they already refused to replace a cracked rear bar that broke on the weep hole at the bottom of the bend.
MY EMBLEMS ARE COMING OFF AND MY LIFETIME LOVE AFFAIR OF HARLEYS IS OVER. MY 49 PAN WAS LESS TROUBLE AND BUILT TO LAST. My AMF HD was fun but had its problems. My CVO Ultra has been a huge disappointment and Harley doesn't give **** . . . therefore . . . . next bike . . . .sadly an import, but a lot a HD crap is from China anyway. Its been quite a ride, but its nearing a parting of ways. Good luck to the rest of you in your dealings with a failing company. Its not going to be the first time for them.
6 posts and you're shittIng on someone else's thread about completely unrelated ****. Give me a break.
Bike looks slick without the emblems bro. I might heading down this same road with my bob now.
First remove the "paper cutter" emblem coming off the bar and shield and you may like the way the HD Bar & Shield looks. I did and love it.
I was wondering if there is a way to get the letter opener trim part of the emblem chrome plated? It would tie into the over all style of the tank better. It would really look nicer than the grey plastic.
