Was reading the forum this past saturday and decided to remove my tank emblems...i love it . Been trying to get a way from stock look. I have an extra set of tins that i will be painting but until then i like this look better than stock. So i was off yesterday and took a ride with no destination , wound up going to montauk point( eastern most point on long island) it was a nice unplanned 200 mile round trip. So i took a few pics of the bike
Nice and clean, I like it. BTW where is your rear turns? Do you use the Kury taillight with turns instead? How do you cover the turn holes?
yes , i do have the Kuryakyn Panacea tail light with built it directionals(i am on my 3rd one) hopefully this one lasts!! the original mount holes are covered by inserts that came with my detatchable backrest mounting hardware.
Been thinking about this for awhile... There is paint under that emblem right? Is there a easy "how-to" on the forum?
DO A SEARCH there are many on this topic , thats what i did last Saturday, read it, walked outside and did it , it was a little tougher than some said but wasnt too bad. some people say to heat them with a hair dyer then use fishing line or dental floss to "saw" through the double sided tape , use goo gone or goof off (whatever that **** is called) , some say use wd 40 . I sort of did a combination i heated them with a dryer , sprayed them with goo gone then trid sawing them with dental floss (which must have been too thin , it kept breaking) the metal emblems came off but the tape stayed so i wound up using my thumb and my nail to slowly remove the rest of the tape/glue. i had an easier time removing the front and rear reflectors using the same method. I must have done something wrong on one side there was ahaze and had to lightly compound it and wax it ....but it all worked out and i am happy with the results...al least it looks a little less like the next streetbob in the parking lot. someone actually asked me what kind of bike this was later on that night (this was actually a harley rider and prospective local club member) think he needs to educate himself a little. ....after all it still looks like a Streetbob
40 grand for a CVO Ultra and my chrome is PEELING OFF.
Deeley Harley Davidson, who distributes HD to all of Canada, wants 150 bucks for 1 tank emblem. This is after they already refused to replace a cracked rear bar that broke on the weep hole at the bottom of the bend.
MY EMBLEMS ARE COMING OFF AND MY LIFETIME LOVE AFFAIR OF HARLEYS IS OVER. MY 49 PAN WAS LESS TROUBLE AND BUILT TO LAST. My AMF HD was fun but had its problems. My CVO Ultra has been a huge disappointment and Harley doesn't give **** . . . therefore . . . . next bike . . . .sadly an import, but a lot a HD crap is from China anyway. Its been quite a ride, but its nearing a parting of ways. Good luck to the rest of you in your dealings with a failing company. Its not going to be the first time for them.

Why don't you start your own thread bitchin about the MOCO instead of shitting on someone else's.
I removed the emblems from my 2010 FXDC, and couldn't be happier with the way it looks. OP, your bike looks really nice without the badges.
