HI,
Installing my forward controls on my dyna and in the HD kit there is a longer trans shift lever, about inch longer then the stock lever. I left the stock lever and it works and did not install the new lever because I thought it might be difficult to put on, because you have to put it on behind the primary inner casing. Is there a reason to use the long lever, all I can think of is there is more movement with the new lever. Any thoughts would be good?
Thanks
I left the stock lever as well when I converted my bike to fwd controls. You'll have a shorter throw for shifting but it works fine. The only issue I have had is it is nearly impossible to put in neutral. I learned to just reach down and click it into neutral with my right hand. I've seen a post on here about someone changing this lever without primary removal but think it would be a pita.
