HemiOrange, my bike doesn't have a factory security system. No special fob. Just a cylindrical key. I had to install an aftermarket security system in order to have any sort of alarm.
My mistake. I thought my lowly '07 FXD would have come with less security features than your '11. Personally, I don't care for my factory security system, nor the ignition key location.
I now don't need to use the key, but I still need to have the fob, which I carry along with the trimmed key (in case I want to lock my forks), in a pocket.
The hidden ignition bypass switch was one of the handiest mods I've done and the one that I appreciate everytime I jump on the bike. It's location also reminds me to push the comp releases while my hand is down there.
