People who say that a tyre should be replaced because you had a puncture do not understand the nature of a tyre's construction.....they are designed to have punctures and be repaired, that is why you can buy repair kits.

The only times you don't fix a puncture (cars or bikes) is when it has been run flat for a distance and the carcass is distorted.... the other applies only to tubeless tyres and that is that you don't plug or patch them if the hole is on the shoulder of the tyre. This is because the shoulder distorts more than the rest of the tyre and the patch or plug may come off.

Tubeless tyres are great because you can fix a flat with a plug kit and a compressed air can and be on your way without removing the wheel.......
