On my 2006 Dyna Wide Glide I just bent my wheels and am debating on black or chrome wheels, and possible other black acessories. The bike had tons of chrome but as we all know black is the new chrome. I have not seen any blacked out 06-08 Wide Glides. I want your opinions on what I should black out or leave chrome. I currently have a spray bombed pro pipe and I'm thinking of getting gloss black heat shields, and black primary covers?
I think some chrome will give it contrast? I wish I had a PhotoShop program so I could see what it looked like. I like the chopper/ Bobber/ HotRod look, and I want a one of a kind bike. Please give me your honest opinion and ideas.
I went with gloss black rim and hub with black chrome spokes on my black lowrider a few years ago, but it seems we are all doing black. Check out some of the wheel sites like HDwheels.com. They have lots of color combos with quality photos. I was on there the other day and...well you will see, all the ideas start turning in my head. My wallet on the other hand says love the ones you got!
Honestly dude the whole black thing is getting played out the "black is the new Chrome is a few years to late in my opinion.. Everybody is blacking everything out and all bikes are looking the same listen I love black but I think a nice contrast of black and chrome looks so much better then just murdering everything out.. I went the whole blacked out look on my Fat Bob when I first picked her up in 09 and this winter I started to add Chrome and get away from that whole blacked out theme I still have Black Cases, Black Rims, Black accesories etc etc. But I went with alot more chrome for a nice even contrast and I think the bike looks alot better now here is a before and after pic of my bike... I also changed the paint job but anyway if I were you I would add more chrome and just have a nice even contrast of the two..
I prefer Black period...but on your bike I'd say Black rims with chrome spokes would look nice. I'd tell you black out your engine but it looks good chrome. You even have the chrome Burly's so I'd say just find some black parts but don't go over the top. I think your paint scheme will look better with chrome. My bike is Denim Black so black parts with a little chrome looks great. Maybe you could black out your fork lowers with black and chrome wheels and black handlebars?? IDK...but good luck
