Ok here's the deal. I got an 09 lowrider with v&h big radious, stage 1 intake and PCV. All from fuel moto,
which was installed by me. Last weekend I got caught in a bad rain storm. 2 days later I go for a
ride and the bike stalls on me. Anyways, a long story short, come to find out water had gotten into the connections of the PCV. Took it off and let it dry out for a week. Installed it again and went for a ride and the bike just doesn't feel the same. Sounds like
it is starting to pop on decel and stuff. So, is it my Imagination? Is it I don't trust the PCV anymore? Should I look into getting something that doesn't stay on the bike like a SERT or pv? Give me some advice guys. I need help lol sorry for the long post. I am hoping someone can help me out
Well I have been riding some more and it is def popping on decel. Never done that prior to this incident. It still doesn't seem to have the pep it had before either. What do you guys think? Is it my imagination or is the PCV bad? give me some advice. I'm scared to go further that 10 miles from my house. That's a long ways to push a bike alone. Lol
Fuelmoto is a great company I am sure they can help you out.
I would recommend calling Fuel moto. They have the best customer service that I have ever dealt with. I would bet dollars to donuts that they will help you out. They will more than likely be able to answer all of your questions and provide any assistance you require.
I talked to Jamie he said that the map should still be good and to add some dielectric grease to the connections. Which I did. But why would the map just go bad all of a sudden?

When anything electrical gets wet you can usually expect it to malfunction until it dries out completely. I would imagine the map is stored in a magnetic or digital portion of the on board pcv, (I am not familiar with its anatomy) . I highly doubt your map could/would get corrupted, however the connection on your pcv is "talking" to your ecm, so if it's wet it is going to have less than perfect working conditions(until it dries out of course).
I'm pretty sure it's dried out now. It's been a few weeks now. I kept it off the bike for around a week or so. I don't think the way it runs is in my head now but it might be. Lol should I just take it off. See if I can sell it and use that to get something that don't stay on the bike?
I have had my pcv for going on 3 years and it works flawlessly.
You said you installed your pipes, was this recently? If so have you checked to your exhaust for loose connections.
When you put your pcv back on did you make sure all connections were made properly?
How many miles have you ridden since you got stuck in the rain. Bad gas? At least run the tank to near empty and refill or drain the tank and re-fill before you drop some cash on a new tuner.
