im in the process of putting on thicker 14 apes on my 09 street bob, and theyre hitting the top of the fork tubes.... i know i can turn em down enuf to clear, but just need to know how about going about this.... instructions please? i just dont want to mess anything up...do i need to take the weight off the front end first? etc... thanks
step 1....you probably want to lift the front of the bike a hair using any method you desire.
step 2...loosen the two pinch bolts on one of the forks, located on the triple trees.
step 3...slide fork down to desired depth.
step 4...tighten pinch bolts
step 5...take a measurement from the top of the tree to the top of the fork cap.
step 6...repeat steps 1 thru 3 on the other fork tube.
step 7...use previous measurement from first fork on second fork so they are the same exact height.
step 8...double check pinch bolt tightness.
step 9...go ride.
