Must be nice to live in a part of the country where not having a windshield is a viable option. Once we hit May here, the bugs make a windshield a must have if you're going to do some distance with your face intact.

Riding my Shovel is great at high speeds, I built it that way. Low narrow bars and I stay tucked down and haul ***. I will say one thing though, a headlight blocks WAY more wind than one would think. I had my headlight mount break on a ride and rode the rest of the way with my headlight off and holy smokes did I get wind beat.

I put a tool bag in front of handlebars and noticed a slight loss of wind, then I tested tieing a shirt on my apes and all wind was gone, not a good look but a idea if you caught in rain! Maybe bungycord a sleeping bag in front to take the wind away?

Hasnt anyone noticed all the bikes running around with apes and have a blanket tied to the bars just above the headlight? Trust me, they dont do it for looks (even if it does look cool).
