Default Don't you hate it when .......

Dont you hate it when your riding 80 on the freeway and those baggers just fly past you with no regards to the wind, i know this does not apply to everyone but for me i get curious. i ride a 08 fat bob with no winshield and a full face helmet and here in california everyone drives or rides fast so 75 is pretty much the flow of traffic. Alot of the times when riding over 75 my neck is getting pulled back, making the ride a little uncomfortable. I'm just curious what others have done, if or when this happens to them. i know a windshield helps but i just hate the look,it changes the whole look of the bike. any advice ?

Put yout feet on your passenger pegs and lean forward a bit. Very comfy in the 85mph range...(on my fxdwg)

get rid of the apes and put on some low bars on short risers - leaning into the wind makes a big difference.

I was riding in Malaysia aroun 70 when 2 guys with apehangers blast past me. I still ride with a shield for any distance though.

I love to ride at 80 to 90 when I can. I wear a ff and put my head down so helmet rests on dash. It makes a big differance but cant see behind me so I pop up and look around and then duck for a bit.

This is why I can't run apes without a windshield. I like them at city speeds, but out on the highway I'm sitting upright, the wind is hitting me in the chest and it wears me out in short order. I'm a big fan of handlebars that have me leaning slightly into the wind and I add a full faced helmet.

better than having a bagger. I have a small windshield, cuts the main flow. Cant have it both ways.

I cruise at 80-90 with apes and no windshield for 600 miles aday with no ill effects....but my seat gives good back support so it must make a difference.

I like to cruise at 80mph, no problem with my mini apes. When its cold I wear a FF, then the spreed goes up a bit.

A lot of a rider's level of comfort at this speed has to do with upper body strength. I have the same bike and don't experience the same discomfort you mention.
